January 07 - Night Tide , 1961 - A lonely sailor, Johnny Drake, meets the beautiful, mysterious Mora who performs as a mermaid on the Santa Monica Pier. After they become lovers, Johnny discovers that Mora's past two boyfriends inexplicably disappeared. As his suspicions grow, Mora's doomed and sinister past is slowly revealed.

January 14 - Till The Clouds Roll By , 1946 - Light bio-pic of American Broadway pioneer Jerome Kern, featuring renditions of the famous songs from his musical plays by contemporary stage artists, including a condensed production of his most famous: 'Showboat'.

January 21 - She Gods of Shark Reef , 1958 - Two brothers, one wanted for murder, are shipwrecked on an island inhabited by nubile young women who have amassed a valuable cache of pearls.

January 28 - Peck's Bad Boy , 1934 - Young boy Bill Peck adores his father and tries to be good, but the arrival of Bill's cousin Horace upsets Bill's plans. Horace's brattish ways result in Bill rather than Horace getting in trouble.

 

FEBRUARY

February 04 - Oliver Twist , 1933 - An orphan boy in 1830's London is abused in a workhouse, then falls into the clutches of a gang of thieves.

February 11 - Texas, Brooklyn and Heaven , 1948 - A would-be playwright and a young woman escaping from a job at a gas station meet cute and fall in love.

February 18 - The Big Trees , 1952 - A Quaker colony tries to save the giant sequoias from a timber baron.

February 25 - Girl o' My Dreams , 1934 - A conceited college track star, used to being "big man on campus", gets a jolt when he loses an election to see who is the most popular man in the school.

 

MARCH

March 04 - Dixie Jamboree , 1944 - A medicine man on the last show boat on the Mississippi is mistaken by two gangsters as a bootleger, and has to envade them.

March 11 - Heartbeat , 1946 - A young female escapee from a reform school joins a pickpocket academy in Paris. She is caught red-handed on her first attempt at stealing by an upper class man. He recruits her to do him a favor at a society party where she meets and falls in love with a young, handsome, rich diplomat. Whether or not she can land him is another story.

March 18 - Dixie Jamboree , 1944 - A medicine man on the last show boat on the Mississippi is mistaken by two gangsters as a bootleger, and has to envade them.

March 25 - Private Snuffy Smith , 1942 - Snuffy Smith, moonshining hillbilly, grows tired of dodging revenue agents, headed by Cooper, and decides to take the army up on their offer of free clothes, food and $21.00 a month. Once enlisted, he finds that revenue agent Cooper is his sergeant. Don, a hillbilly soldier friend of Snuffy, has invented a range finder, but it is stolen by some fifth columnists and hidden in Snuffy's bag. Snuffy decides he has all the army discipline he cares for and heads back to Smokey Mountain, followed closely by the enemy agents.

 

APRIL

April 01 - Shadows Over Shanghai , 1938 - A pilot carrying a valuable amulet is shot down over China by a ruthless Russian agent, who also wants the amulet.

April 08 - President's Mystery , 1936 - A millionaire with a crumbling personal life comes up with an idea on how he can disappear, start a new life without anyone knowing who he is and be able to take all his money with him.

April 15 - War Dogs , 1942 - A young boy donates his pet, a police dog, to the army to be trained as a war dog.

April 22 - The Ape , 1940 - Dr. Bernard Adrian is a kindly mad scientist who seeks to cure a young woman's polio. He needs spinal fluid from a human to complete the formula for his experimental serum. Meanwhile, a vicious circus ape has broken out of its cage, and is terrorizing towns people.

April 29 - Terror in the Midnight Sun , 1959 - Aliens release a furry critter in the wilds of Lapland where it takes a woman captive and threatens a group of scientists.

 

MAY

May 06 - Nevada City , 1941 - The conflict between a railroader and a stageline owner is being aggravated by bad guys who are sabotaging both sides. Roy and Gabby mediate the conflict and expose the bad guys.

May 13 - The Sundowners , 1950 - Brother is pitted against brother in this tale of fueding ranchers in the old west.

May 20 - Lost in the Stratosphere , 1934 - Two military pilots are close friends, and share in a lot of hazardous missions while engaging in a series of good-natured romantic rivalries. But when one of the pilots loses a girl he really cared for, he cannot forgive his friend. Soon afterwards, they must work together on their most dangerous mission yet.

May 27 - Barefoot Boy , 1938 - Other than using the same title this film has no connection to nor is there any film credit linking it to the poem by John Greenleaf Whittier. In this film, Kenneth Hale, a pampered, snobbish young boy is sent by his father, John Hale, who has served time in prison for a crime he did not commit, down to the country farm of an old friend, Calvin Whittaker. The barefooted, honest and plucky Billy Whittaker, his girlfriend, Pige Bennett, and punky Kenneth get involved with a "haunted" house and a gang of crooks, while Billy helps make a "better man" out of Kenneth.

 

JUNE

June 03 - Bowery Blitzkrieg , 1941 - The East Side Kids discover that one of their own, Danny, is torn between staying and school and becoming a boxer, and is getting mixed up with gangsters.

June 10 - The Girl from Monterey , 1943 - Mexican club singer Lita Valdez is amazed to find that her younger brother Alberto is a talented boxer and is even more thrilled by his consistent success in the ring. Till he is forced to fight Jerry O'Leary, the man she loves. Caught between her devotion to both men, Lita tries her best to have the match canceled, but there is much more to the boxing racket than she had ever imagined...

June 17 - L'Age'D'Or , 1930 - A man and a woman are passionately in love with one another, but their attempts to consummate that passion are constantly thwarted, by their families, the Church and bourgeois society.

June 24 - Lumberjack , 1944 - Julie's husband has been murdered and land agents want her to sign away her property rights. Hoppy warns against this but she does so anyway. It looks as though she will be unable to deliver the timber called for in her agreement. Hoppy has to make the lumber deal happened and solve the murder.

 

JULY

July 01 - A Farewell to Arms , 1932 - A tale of the love between ambulance driver Lt. Henry and Nurse Catherine Barkley during World War I. The action takes place in Italy and the two fall in love during the war and will stop at nothing to be together. The film also analyses Lt. Henry's feelings on war and the purpose of fighting.

July 08 - Inner Sanctum , 1948 - A man fleeing the police after having committed a murder hides out in a boarding house in a small town.

July 15 - Rain , 1932 - A prostitute finds redemption in some Hawaiian isle thanks to a hard missionary man.

July 22 - The House of Secrets , 1936 - Two men stumble into an old mansion, and get involved with a crazed scientist, torture chambers and sinister medical experiments.

July 29 - The Renegade Ranger , 1938 - Texas Ranger Jack Steele is assigned to bring in former ranch owner Judith Alvarez, now the leader of a gang who is waging war against the crooked government officials who cheated the ranchers out of their land.

 

AUGUST

August 05 - McLintock! , 1963 - Loosely based on Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew. The film is notable, perhaps even infamous, for its two spanking scenes, in which mother and daughter are each paddled with coal shovels: the daughter by her suitor, the mother by her estranged husband.

August 12 - Impact , 1949 - Wealthy businessman survives attempt by wife to have him killed, makes it look like she succeeded and starts a new life in small town as auto mechanic.

August 19 - Crude Impact , 2006 - An examination of the interconnection of human domination of the planet and the use of petroleum, and offers solutions for how we can stop our progression down this destructive path.

August 26 - The Trials of Henry Kissinger , 2002 - documentary film inspired by Christopher Hitchens' 2001 book The Trial of Henry Kissinger, examining the alleged war crimes of Henry Kissinger, the National Security Advisor and later Secretary of State under Presidents Nixon and Ford.

 

SEPTEMBER

September 02 - Too Late for Tears , 1949 - Through a fluke circumstance a ruthless woman stumbles across a suitcase filled with $60,000, and she is determined to hold onto it even it if means murder.

September 09 - Horror Express , 1976 - An English anthropologist has discovered a frozen monster in the frozen wastes of Manchuria which he believes may be the Missing Link.

September 16 - Africa Screams , 1949 - Basic crazy Abbott and Costello movie that also features a couple of the three stooges.

September 23 - Time of Your Life , 1941 - Based on William Saroyan's Pulitzer Prize winning play, this is the story of a lovable bunch of eccentrics that patronize a run-down San Francisco bar.

September 30 - The Amazing Transparent Man , 1960 - Mad scientist sets out to create an army of invisable soldiers to take over the world.

 

OCTOBER

October 07 - Flight To Mars , 1951 - A newspaper man and a group of scientist head-off to meet the Martians.

October 14 - The Basketball Fix , 1951 - Rising basketball star gets mixed up with gambling and mobsters.

October 21 - Invasion USA , 1952 - A mystrious stranger named Mr. Ohman visits a New York bar and convinces the patrons that the Communists are invading and haved dropped the H-bomb on Manhattan.

October 28 - Carnival of Souls , 1962 - A group of teenagers goes off of a bridge while drag racing. All are apparently killed, but a young woman miraculously survives. She is then drawn by a shadowy figure to a spooky carnival.

 

NOVEMBER

November 04 - Black Dragons , 1942 - Japanese spies undergo plastic surgery to pose as American Industrialists and sabatoge the war effort.

November 11 - The Painted Hills , 1951 - A Lassie movie that involves a gold prospector.

November 18 - Battles Of Chief Pontiac , 1952 - A scout tries to broker peace between an Ottawa tribe and colonials. A Hessian mercenary works to slaughter the natives.

November 25 - Angel And The Badman , 1947 - Beautiful Quaker girl tries to reform an all around bad guy.

 

DECEMBER

December 02 - Attack in the Pacific , 1944 - Details the Allied strategy to defeat Japan in WWII.

December 09 - Attack of the Giant Leeches , 1959 - Leeches suck blood. Giant leeches suck lots of blood. A Rodger Corman production.

December 16 - Angel on My Shoulder , 1946 - The devil (Claude Rains) offers a deceased gangster (Paul Muni) the chance to return in the body of a judge.

December 23 - Time of Your Life , 1941 - Based on William Saroyan's Pulitzer Prize winning play, this is the story of a lovable bunch of eccentrics that patronize a run-down San Francisco bar.

December 30 - DOA , 1950 - O' Brien plays Frank Bigelow, who finds he has been poisoned and has only a short time to live. Bigelow attempts to find out who poisoned him and why.
