Ice Cream has always been considered more of a comfort food than a health food. However, it should be considered a health hazard.
Most people don’t want to hear it but those who truly care about their health and the health of their children should be aware of the hazards of ice cream. Not only does it contain far too much fat, sugar and protein for the human diet, it also contains dangerous hormones, antibiotics, dioxin, PCBs, pesticides, bacteria, pus, blood, artificial flavors & colors, and a host of other hazardous contaminants. Now there is a new toxin in ice cream that is extremely dangerous – genetically engineered fish protein.
‘Low-fat’ ice cream in the US and a few other countries contains a patented protein manufactured by Unilever called ISP Type III HPLC 12 glyco–ISP. It is used to make ice cream smoother and creamier and is made from the blood protein of the eelpout which keeps the fish’s blood from freezing. The fish protein is grown in genetically engineered yeast.
Because the protein doesn’t exist as part of the normal human diet the human immune system can recognize the protein as an antigen and it can cause an immune response. This means that the body can react to the mutant protein as something toxic. The symptoms can be in the form of a mild allergic reaction to something much more severe. Sever allergic reactions can cause death, especially in the aged and in children.
When a Japanese company manufactured the nutritional supplement L-tryptophan from genetically engineered bacteria it caused such strong allergic reactions in people who took it that many of them died and many more suffered debilitating and painful reactions that have lasted for over 15 years so far.
The method used to insert the fish gene into yeast DNA is imprecise and the DNA is unstable. The mutant DNA can separate and then become part of the DNA in the bacteria or yeast in the human body and produce a wide range of problems. It may be possible for the DNA to even transfer to human DNA and cause a host of unknown and untreatable health problems.
No real safety testing has been conducted on the mutant fish protein. In the US, the notoriously corrupt FDA does not require genetically engineered food ingredients to be safety tested and over 60% of food in stores now contain a wide range of genetically engineered ingredients. As a result, allergies have skyrocketed, obesity is epidemic and health is deteriorating rapidly.
Ice cream made with the protein is not labeled so there is no way of knowing if the ice cream you buy contains the ingredient or not unless you ask the manufacturer and they happen to tell you the truth.
The only safe course is to simply not eat ice cream or give it to your family members. Rice Dream frozen desert made from rice milk and natural ingredients on top of fresh or frozen fruit is a great alternative and one that will support your health rather than make you sick. Frozen deserts made from soy should be avoided as soy is now genetically contaminated and likely to cause allergies.
