How to Save the Baby Seals
The fact that Canadians are brutally killing 270,000 baby seals in front of their mothers for no reason other than greed, vanity and sheer stupidity has appalled and angered much of the world. A few thousand Canadians will do the killing for money but it is the vanity of rich women that directly pays for it. Women who buy and wear baby seal fur coats and accessories actually think that they are being stylish in their attire. The reality is that most people find them and their attire disgusting and repulsive.
The issue of killing baby seals should illuminate the bigger issue of how humans view other species and our personal responsibility for the destruction of the planet and its non-human species.
From the Earth’s perspective humans are a destructive parasite that is rapidly destroying all life on the planet. We mindlessly over-populate as though we have no control over our urge to copulate. We kill other species just because we can or because we can make money doing it. We raise animals in the most horrible conditions and then kill them and eat their bodies even though there is no good reason to do so. We cut down trees which are the Earth’s lungs. We put the carbon poison from inside the Earth into the air to poison the entire planet. We consume and consume without ever thinking where the stuff comes from or what damage our consumption causes. Slaughtering baby seals is merely one more crime of an insane species bent on destroying itself and all other life.
Yet, if you ask the average person if they want to die they will say “No” and will do all they can to live. If you ask them if they want to live on a dead planet they will also say “No”. The average person wouldn’t cut down a pristine forest or kill baby seals. Most wouldn’t even kill a cow or pig themeselves.
The problem is that our urban consumer life-style has isolated us from the consequences our own actions. The women who buy the soft fur coats don’t have to do the killing themselves. People who buy newpapers don’t have to cut down the trees. People who drive cars don’t have to drill, pump and refine the oil. Turning up the heat doesn’t mean that one has to go dig up coal and burn it in a power plant.
Instead of being exposed to the consquences to our actions we are distracted by mediocre music on the radio, mindless pablum on television and shiny new things. Rarely does reality leak through the artifical information shields. When it does we can merely send a check to some ineffectual and corrupt non-profit organization and feel better about things without contemplating our role in it all.
Even if we aren’t shielded from reality we are deceived by a culture that considers it OK to kill baby cows and pigs but not OK to kill puppies, kittens or baby seals. In China people raise cats and dogs for fur and food and don’t mind killing anything that isn’t human. Their twisted culture simply doesn’t include basic morality when it comes to animals.
The fact is that animals are intelligent and sensitive creatures who have a full range of emotions. They feel love, anger, sadness and embarrassment. They have a sense of self. Many even have a sense of humor. Some animals mate for life and will sacrifice themselves to protect their mate. Many animal mothers will defend their babies to the death. Dogs will risk their lives to protect humans.
A bird-brained parrot named Nkisi who has learned to converse in English can teach us humans a thing or two about animal consciousness. Nkisi is able to communicate ideas, feelings, create new sentences and make jokes. Nkisi is even telepathic and can sense what humans are thinking and even dreaming.
Do baby seals suffer when wacked in the head with a pick-axe and skinned alive? Certainly. Do their mothers who are next to them suffer the horror of watching their babies killed? Absolutely. Want to do something about it that won’t get you thrown in jail?
Things to do
Change Yourself – The single most important thing you can do for the planet and yourself is to simply adopt the diet your body was intended for. Our closest relatives in nature are the great apes and they eat plants, fruits and nuts. There simply is no requirement for humans to eat animals. Doing so degrades the human body and spirit and is destroying the planet. Not eating sea creatures ends support for an industry that is destroying the oceans. Those who will kill the seals are primarily fish killers by trade but can no longer find enough other sea creatures to kill and so kill whatever there is a market for. As long as someone is willing to pay them enough to do the killing they will do it.
Human thought and actions are to a certain extent influenced by morphogenetic fields – the collective consciousness. If you change your life and live in a more compassionate and thoughtful way it has a subtle but real impact on others.
Use Energy – We are surrounded by life force energy. It is called qi, prana or simply subtle energy. Science has been able to determine its existence due to its effects but has not been able to measure it directly. Energy healing techniques such a Qigong, Tai-Chi and Quantum Touch use it, as does martial arts. The most simple and easy to learn energy healing technique is Quantum Touch.
To do Quantum Touch breath in and consciously pull energy into your body and up into your head. It is best if you breath with your diaphram instead of your chest. The energy should go through the top of your head into an energy balloon on top of your head and then back down and out through your hands as you exhale.
You can use QT to remotely heal those responsible for killing the seals and also to shield the seals. While the effect is subtle it is real and may ultimately have some impact.
Use Your Mind – Thought has real power. Studies conducted by Dr. Dean Radin at the UNLV Consciousness Research Lab showed that when someone is looking at another person’s photo the person in the photo has a measurable physiological response. Studies on the sense of being stared at have confirmed that one person can feel another person staring at them.
Remote influencing is a reality and has been well documented. You can remotely influence another person through positive or negative intent.
The easiest way to remotely influence those responsible for killing the seals is as follows:
1. Take a plain sheet of paper with the target’s photo or name and identifying info. such as date of birth, address or phone number if known. If influencing a group you can put a description of the group.
2. Draw a circle around the target. Outside the circle print the feelings or ideas you want to communicate and draw an arrow from it to the target.
3. Focus your intent and keep sending the message. Visualize the person getting the message and responded.
A more difficult but also more effective way to influence someone is to engage them in a telepathic conversation. This requires a higher degree of concentration, focus and sensitivity to the more subtle aspects of consciousness.
The most powerful form of remote influencing is to basically become the person. We exist not as physical beings in a physical world but as transient energy-information fields in a vast energy-information field. One energy field can tap into and even merge with another and directly influence the target field. This is how remote healing works. It can also be used to influence the thoughts and feelings of another person. It can also be dangerous because the stronger field will dominate the other and the person seeking to influence can end up being influenced.
Communicate – Silence in the face of injustice implies consent. Don’t give your consent. Let everyone know your opposition to the killing of baby seals. Send personal letters to the Canadian Prime Minister, Canadian Tourism Commission and the Fisheries Ministry.
Boycott Canadian Seafood – Canadians make billions each year from destroying ocean-life and Americans pay for most of it. Simply stop paying for the Canadian ocean killing industry. Boycott Canadian products as much as you can and especially boycott Canadian products which come from the ocean.
Boycott Fur Fashion – Let the fashion industry know that you wont’ buy their products as long as they use seal fur. For a list of supporters of the seal slaughter click here or visit http://www.hsus.org/marine_mammals/protect_seals/designers_who_use_seal_fur.html.
The man chiefly responsible for the slaughter of baby seals is Loyola Hearn, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans. He was born March 25, 1943 in Renews, Newfoundland and is currently a Conservative Canadian politician.
Hearn was born in the coastal village of Renews, where he received his early education. After graduating from high school, he studied at Memorial University and the University of New Brunswick. After graduating he started a teaching career in Renews. Following his teaching career he served in the Newfoundland and Labrador House of Assembly from 1982 to 1993, and served as Newfoundland and Labrador’s Minister of Education from 1985 to 1989, before getting into federal politics.
Following his victory in the 2006 federal election as well as the Conservatives’ minority victory he was named Minister of Fisheries the same day Conservative Prime Minister Stephen Harper was sworn in.
