Convicted CIA terrorist Luis Posada Carriles was recently ordered released from a Texas Immigration jail on a $35,000 bond, despite the fact that Posada is an self-confessed and convicted terrorist who is wanted in Venezuela and Cuba. Posada had been detained for the last 2 years on an immigration charge, not for being the mass murderer he is.
Posada is an extremely dangerous and evil man with the blood of thousands on his hands and he must locked away. The fact that he has not been charged for his crimes and continues to be shielded by the US is a grave crime that erases any credibility the US ever had in its bogus ‘war on terrorism’.
Posada started officially killing for Uncle Sam in 1962 as part of the CIA’s anti-Cuba terrorism campaign “Operation 40” and took part in the ill-fated Bay of Pigs attack on Cuba. He worked with well-known vile murderers such as Frank Sturgis, Felix Rodriguez , Orlando Bosch, Rafael ‘Chi Chi’ Quintero, Virgilio Paz Romero, Pedro Luis Diaz Lanz, Bernard Barker, and others.
Posada was tried and convicted in Venezuela for the bombing of a Cuban airliner Cubana flight 455 which killed all 73 people aboard. He escaped in 1985 with the help of the CIA.
Posada is also guilty of torturing and murdering dozens of political prisoners in Venezuela when he was head of special operations in the intelligence services of Venezuela under US military dictator in the early 70’s.
In Central America Posada helped run the US sponsored death squads in El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras which tortured and murdered over 200,000 civilians.
In Nicaragua Posada was a chief architect of the Iran-Contra terrorist campaign against civilians which killed 50,000 and robbed the country of hope.
In 1997, Posada was behind a series of terrorist bombings in Cuba intended to deter the growing tourism trade on the island. An Italian businessman was killed and 11 people wounded in the attacks. In a taped interview with the New York Times, Posada confessed, “It is sad that someone is dead, but we can’t stop.” Posada was reportedly disappointed with the reluctance of American news organisations to report the bombing attacks, saying “If there is no publicity, the job is useless.” Raúl Ernesto Cruz León, who Posada admitted was a mercenary under his employment, was sentenced to death by the Cuban authorities after confessing to the attacks.
In the year 2000 in Panama Posada was convicted for conspiring to bomb a school auditorium with 200 pounds of C-4 explosives at the University of Panama, when it would have been full of students listening to a speech that the Cuban President Fidel Castro was to give. He was pardoned and released in 2004 by the outgoing Panamanian president and CIA puppet Mireya Moscoso on her way to the good life in Miami.
In 2005 Posada snuck across the border from Mexico and applied for political assylum. On May 17, 2005 the Miami Herald conducted an interview with Posada in South Florida and he was thereafter detained by the Department of Homeland Security. Afraid that Posada would reveal too much about his terrorist activities for the Bush family and CIA, Posada was held in jail for “crossing the border illegally.”
On September 28th, a US judge ruled that Posada couldn’t be deported because he ‘faced the threat of torture in Venezuela’ and he was kept safely in jail and away from journalists. Posada could have been deported to Mexico if that were really the case. The Judge ignored Venezuela’s legal extradition order.
Posada’s guilt as a terrorist is not in question. He has proudly admitted his crimes and declassified documents prove that he worked for the US government and the Govt. knew and approved of his actions.
Posada has been tried and convicted from a few of his crimes but has continued to evade justice and is likely to continue to do so.
Posada is more than an embarrasing relic of the America war on latin democracy. He knows far too much and poses a serious threat to people currently in power. George Bush Sr. was Director of the CIA while Posada was in the employ of the CIA and it was pressure from the Bush family that got him pardoned in Panama.
Documents recently declassified and released clearly prove that the US govt. was directly responsible for Posada’s terrorist acts for the period it officially employed. This makes the US a state sponsor of terrorism.
Countless other documents remain sealed away which tell the full story of Posada and his activities after 1976.
While most of the thinking world already knows that the US is a terrorist state, Posada makes the point crystal clear and irrefutable.
The Immigration and Customs Service has promised to re-arrest Posada. It is possible that after more than 2 years in federal custody Posada’s memory has been rewritten so that he no longer poses a threat from what he might remember. However, if Venezuela gets hold of Posada his memories could perhaps be recovered and used against the US govt. and the many other criminals who have continued to evade justice.
