FBI Wants to Monitor all Internet TrafficThe Internet poses a threat to those who would subvert democracy and engage in corruption, which is why the FBI wants to control it.
Recently FBI director Robert Mueller revealed his intentions in testimony to the Judiciary Committee of the House of Representatives.
In his testimony Mueller remarked:
“I think legislation has to be developed that balances on one hand, the privacy rights of the individual who are receiving the information, but on the other hand, given the technology, the necessity of having some omnibus search capability utilizing filters that would identify the illegal activity as it comes through and give us the ability to preempt that illegal activity where it comes through a choke point as opposed to the point where it is diffuse on the Internet.”
What this basically means is that the FBI wants to monitor all Internet traffic and take action against those it doesn’t like. The NSA already monitors all electronic communication but it doesn’t always share the data with agencies that have no legal right to it, especially the corrupt and unpredictable FBI.
Since 2000, the FBI’s primary preoccupation has been identifying people resistent to the growing police-state, not investigating criminals. In 1995 the FBI referred over 20,000 cases to the Justice Dept. for indictments and 2007 it was only 2,300.
Thinking Americans should be very concerned about the FBI monitoring all their online activity and having that information used against them.
