Peace Demonstrators & Press Beaten & KidnappedDuring the Republican Convention in Minnesota police attacked and arrested hundreds of peaceful demonstrators as an exercise in mindless brutality.
Americans got a good dose of reality during the week that the Republican party held their convention in Minnesota.
The abuse started well before the convention when potential activists were put under surveillance, kidnapped, had their offices and homes broken into and their equipment stolen by goons squads run by local and federal agencies.
During the convention the same goons attacked peaceful demonstrators and reporters. Main-stream media attempting to provide coverage were also targeted. Even medics and bystanders were violently attacked.
A peaceful meeting of lawyers with the Mayor of Minneapolis to discuss the police-incited riots and the way peaceful protesters and journalists were abused was attacked by cops in FULL RIOT GEAR.
Eight activists were charged with state terrorism charges based solely on information from paid informants. Many others are being charged with a variety of felonies and misdemeanors for violating no laws.
Amy Goodman, of Democracy Now! was brutally arrested and charged with a misdemeanor for merely asking why her reporters were assaulted and arrested.
50,000 people signed a petition to the mayor’s office, the Republican National Convention Host Committee, and other local officials demanding an end to the crimes against journalists trying to cover the event.
“We call on the mayor, district attorney, and police chief to rein in the overly aggressive — and even violent — tactics of law enforcement. Arresting and detaining journalists for doing their jobs is a gross violation of free speech and freedom of the press.” – Free Press executive director Josh Silver
It has been reported that some people have been tortured and others disappeared into the black-hole of the Dept. of Homeland inSecurity.
Minneapolis Police, St. Paul Police and the Ramsey County Sheriff all eagerly took part in abuse that Hitler would have been proud of.
There can be no more doubt that the US has become a fascist police-state. In today’s USA the govt. is the enemy of the people and the constitution no longer has any meaning to elected officials.
Just as in NAZI Germany, a significant percentage of Americans actually support fascism and support the abuse of their fellow citizens and anyone that doesn’t think just like them.
