We were watching the moon for the eclipse and noticed a bright light, high in the sky, just to the southeast or right side of the moon. Within 10-15 seconds time span it moved across the “top” of the moon to the north-northeast and stopped.
It appeared lower in elevation there as it was brighter. It stayed in that general position, but “bounced around” in deliberate directions. It moved in both vertical and horizontal lines as if drawing coordinates that intersected. Also made circular movements.
It also has several smaller “balls of light” that shot off of it, most were white but one appeared red and another seemed to have a greenish tint before it vanished.
The main light was still there when we went inside around 10:30 p.m.
